Metalwork on Books

Tuesday, 7. June 2016 to Saturday, 11. June 2016

The course will introduce you to the incorporation of metal as decorative 

or structural element in bookbinding.

 In the first part, basic tools and different materials will be presented. 

We will design the ideas related to a book 

and then transform them 

into something tangible. 

In the second part, various specific techniques on metal will be thoroughly explained 

and demonstrated i.e. cutting, filing, engraving, texturing, bending and hammering, soldering, attaching fittings, working with wire. 

Combination with other materials, wood or acrylics.

 Finally, you will learn different methods of attaching metals in the binding. 

Choice of different materials is available.
